'let's talk currency conversion in Spain' quote over a street of coins.

One of the simplest (and most overlooked) ways expats lose money in Spain?

Currency conversion. This isn’t just a personal issue, it's a business one.

Currency conversion in Spain (from Sterling, US dollars or any other currency) impacts your entire treasury function if you’re setting up a subsidiary or managing group cash across borders.

I had a call last week with someone moving their UK pension.

They were losing hundreds a year in poor rates… without even realising.

Here's what I tell clients:

  • Use a proper FX service, not your high street bank

  • Watch transfer timings, especially around tax year cutoffs

  • And make sure your accountant’s factoring currency into your reporting

You don’t need to become a currency expert. You just need someone who’ll look out for this kind of thing.

If that’s something you’d find helpful, let’s chat.
