In reality, ‘plug and play’ finance tools in Spain don't fit.


I’ve lost count of the times I’ve seen a shiny new finance platform rolled out from head office… only to fail at the first Spanish filing.


Why? Because Spain doesn’t bend to global templates.

  • Charts of accounts are fixed.

  • Invoices must follow local format.

  • VAT returns don’t match UK/US cycles.


Global systems are great for visibility.

But without local adaptation, they can create more reconciliation work, not less.Ideally, you need dual systems that talk to each other, not as one-size-fits-all.
