The costs of hiring talent in Spain

Yesterday I posted about the talent case for hiring in Spain. The headline salary figure can mislead in both directions — employer and employee — so here's what the numbers actually look like.
Employers pay approximately 30.6% of gross salary in social security contributions on top of the gross. Employees pay an additional 6.5% from their side.
On a €50,000 gross salary, the employer's total cost runs to around €65,000, and the employee takes home around €35,000 once personal income tax and their own contributions are deducted.
Another thing to consider is rental prices in Spain have risen 30% since 2019, with Madrid and Barcelona now sitting at affordability ratios that are starting to push talent out.
The 26% labor cost advantage is real. But it's a narrower gap than the headline numbers suggest.
If you're building a team in Spain, what's your experience been with the actual cost versus the expected cost?
